About Altoris

Altoris was founded in 2003 as a response to some clearly defined needs in the biotechnology industry for intuitive software to organize and analyze structure activity relationships. Since then, the company has evolved to provide off-the-shelf and custom solutions for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
Our philosophy is to work closely with our clients to develop solutions for scientists in the life sciences industries. Our solutions have been developed either responding to unmet needs from our customers or by direct observation of the problems faced by bench scientists in the biopharmaceutical industry.
We also provide services in the area of molecular modeling for lead discovery and optimization.

Hugo O Villar, Ph.D., MBA

Hugo is a cofounder of Altoris, Inc. where he serves as President and CEO. Hugo has over 25 years working in the application of information technologies to problems in life sciences and chemistry and has published extensively on a broad range of topics from computational chemistry to pharmacology. He was Vice-president for Chemoproteomics at Triad Therapeutics and Vice-president for Discovery Technologies at Telik, Inc. a company devoted to the discovery of oncology drugs. Earlier in his career Hugo worked for IBM and SRI International and other non-for-profit organizations. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina) and an MBA with concentration in Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals Management from the University of Colorado.

Mark R. Hansen, Ph.D.

Mark is a cofounder of Altoris and serves as its Chief Technology Officer. In that capacity, he oversees product development, coordinating all aspects from prototyping to product deployment and consulting services. Mark has a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Texas – Austin, where he developed expertise in the application in biophysics and its application to structure based drug design. Since then, he has worked extensively in the application of computational techniques to diverse problems in chemical information management, structure based design, bioinformatics and image analysis. Mark has consulted for companies large and small on the application of these techniques and published in all these fields.
